Joe Rogan: Man of the Hour

Monday, December 10th, 2007

We all love him… well, not all. Some prefer to love to hate him, as did I, before I actually really heard what he had to say out of the spotlight. He’s the co-host of UFC (I can’t even remember whatever the other dude’s name is), he’s a comedian, he was that guy that hosted Fear Factor, and until recently, I’ve discovered that he’s that famous blogger.

Joe Rogan, the Gaian sensation, is a very unique character. Once you see him on TV, you think he’s a total tool, but when you check out his blog (at http://www.joerogan.net/), he’s amazing. Seriously, whenever I listen to him comment on any UFC fight (yes, he’s a commentator too), he sounds like he’s taken it up the ass one too many times by Randy Couture. Then, when he was a host on Fear Factor, he just seemed like a gross man who was funny at times. However, I now know differently…

Honestly, I had a love/hate relationship with Joe until I looked at his blog. For example… you know how you used to think his loud voice was violently obnoxious? Well, now I see it in a different light: whenever I’m at a bar watching a UFC event, and whenever everyone’s screaming like a bunch of rampant gypsies (they honestly scream like gypsies each time their favourite guy takes down the opponent), I can always count on hearing one man: Joe  Rogan. Whenever I hear him acting like he’s been screwed over by Randy, I just can’t help but find it humorous. Joe’s just that kind of guy once you get to see the more personal side of him.  I’m loving this guy now!

Lastly, as a treat, here’s Joe Rogan’s reaction to the infamous “2Girls1Cup” video, and his friend’s reaction to the BME Pain Olympics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhevNN1BDnQ

A Vision of Teenagers Today

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

It seems that, in today’s society, practicality is a non-existent entity. It doesn’t exist in our school system, in our standards, and in our purchases.

A good amount of the stuff taught to us in school is completely useless to the individual. Sure, one could argue that it’s all generally practical, but when you think about a kid becoming, for example, a nuclear technician, do you think that a religion or ethics class is going to help them? And sure, we could argue that most kids don’t know what they want to be.  I could remember that as a kid, I wanted to be a viking! Of course, I was little and I did not know that it wasn’t necessarily a career option. But what about for those kids who do know what they want? Should they be left to do things that they’re never, ever going to use again?

Our expectations in most things in our daily life are set way too high. We’re so naive as to think that we’re always going to do things perfect, that we’re always going to have the answers; if we don’t we declare ourselves fools. We try something once, and if we don’t get it at first, we give up. Whenever somebody else has the answers and we don’t, we make enemies with them. Perhaps I mainly see this because I’m a teenager, and at my age, people tend to think that they’re the best; if they see that they’re not the best, they feel like they’re nothing.

In this modern age, people in general; not just teenagers, spend ridiculous amounts of money on the dumbest crap in the world: a new cell phone every month, new mp3 players everyday (mainly iPods), cosmetics that we don’t even use very often (I’ve fallen victim to this and probably still will in the future).  Why think about your purchases?  Impulse buy all the way, and burn $400 for nothing! Make 1 hour calls on your cell phone that cost $0.50/minute, buy a new iPod after it breaks during the week you’ve had it, and buy things that you’ll only use once a year! And the most important step of all: do not work for any of the money required to buy such misused items. After all, it’s all about you!

To add and sum up to what I just said on the part about the education system and over-indulgence with technology, here’s a video I found interesting lately. It’s called “A Vision of Students Today,” created by Michael Wesch in collaboration with 200 students at Kansas State University, and it’s at the bottom of this page. I’d really like for you to see it. Please provide your opinion on what I’ve said.

A trip into the world of white nationalist propaganda

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

A few weeks ago, I logged onto a white nationalist site out of curiosity; to understand what white nationalism was all about. I will not disclose the name of the website, but I can tell you that, as with most organizations attached to what our society believes to be radical beliefs, most of the answers didn’t add up.

My initial question to the members was “why are you a white nationalist/supremacist?” This was before I found out that they were supposedly members of an organization based only on white nationalism, as opposed to both white nationalism and white supremacy, according to them.

I was told of the difference between white supremacy and white nationalism in one of the said interesting answers. White nationalists want their race separated from other races, while it is the white supremacists that believe all other races to be inferior. Seems simple enough, right?

And then I received some answers that made even less sense. One fellow said that white nationalism is all about pride in the white race. Simple so far. But then he, as well as other people, used this example with my race in it: let’s say you have a society with Batnayans being the only group. Then you notice that a bunch of non-Batnayans are suddenly flocking in, so all of a sudden, your kids are seeing all of these mixed signals; they’re confused about their identity; the cultures in this society mix to form one, after, let’s say, a few decades, and then you don’t really know who you are anymore. So, what are the Batnayans supposed to do, according to the nationalists? Kick out all the non-Batnayans!

Firstly, to say that white nationalism does not enforce hatred toward non-whites, but rather guards whites to what isn’t similar to them, is silly. Look outside. Do you see all whites looking very similar? I sure don’t, but yes, there are some looking the same. Not all Italians are considered white, but should we kick out the Indo-European Italians (non-white Italians) out? Should we kick out all of the Assyrians, and other Indo-European Arabs? Or what about those North Africans? Perhaps they are a problem, too! The funny thing is, we’d never know who truly deserves to be kicked out or not. Most white races themselves have strong ties to all non-white races. Thus, the “similarity factor” is broken, and it really does tie up to an inbred hatred.

Secondly, saying that white separatism is not a form of white supremacy is a flawed statement. Actually, they weren’t smart enough to know that race separation is separatism. Still, I don’t see non-whites around here bugging white people have them separated from their countries. Some of them even feel uncomfortable with some white people, but even so… just because you feel uncomfortable with someone, does not mean that you have the right to tell them where they’re allowed to live. Would that give them the same right over you? Doesn’t supremacy entail privileged power as such? I would love to see the face of a white supremacist being deported to a third world country from the utter irony of all that.

I thought that maybe I’d study this further to discuss it with you all, but really, this makes less sense to me than it will to you. None of the answers I’ve ever been given by white “nationalists” has ever made any practical sense to me. Perhaps they are driven by a real fear of racial uniformity, or perhaps they’re just stupid. You decide.
